MOSCOW, March 10. (RIA Novosti) - All lots put up at the international big-sized diamond auction more than $18 million worth were sold, a Russian diamond mining company ALROSA informed.
This was the second auction organised by the ALROSA and the Diamond Chamber of Russia, which took place from January 26 to March 4. According to ALROSA, 38 foreign and Russian companies specialised in the deals on the big-sized diamonds and brilliants participated in the auction.
There was 97 lots put for sale. Their total weight was somewhere around 18,5 thousand carats. Among them there were diamonds of especially big size - more than 50 carats. The biggest diamond to be sold by the auction had a weight exceeding 649 carats.
