Special representative of the Russian president on the Caspian Sea problems, deputy foreign minister Viktor Kalyuzhny reported that during the second day of the session "special attention will be paid to the discussion of the general provisions of the Convention on the Status of the Caspian Sea." They include, according to him, determination of the regime of sea navigation, fishery and ecology.
Participants in the session believe that the discussion of the provisions of the Convention during the first day of the work was successful. The Convention has 22 articles of which 11 were fully coordinated. Kalyuzhny pointed out that some of the remaining 11 articles have been coordinated by 99 percent.
Taking part in the working group's session are also deputy foreign minister of Azerbaijan in charge of the Caspian problems Khalaf Khalafov; special representative of the Iran's president on the Caspian Sea problems Mehdi Safrari; special representative of Kazakh president Ravil Cheboldayev and director of a state enterprise on the Caspian Sea issues under the president of Turkmenistasn Khoshgeldy Babayev.
