MOSCOW, March 17, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov's scheduled meeting with Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili might not take place, said State Duma deputy Konstantin Zatulin.

"I've just talked to the Moscow Mayor, and the meeting with Mr. Saakashvili has not been held yet and might not be held at all," he said. "Perhaps, it will take place tomorrow and not in Tbilisi but in Batumi." "The situation is changing every minute," stressed Mr. Zatulin.

This meeting was agreed on earlier during a telephone conversation between Russian Security Council Secretary Igor Ivanov and the Georgian President.

According to Mr. Zatulin, "there is still a risk of a risky military action, probably aimed against the Adzharian leadership headed by Aslan Abashidze." "This action has few chances for success and can hardly be expected not to turn into a bloody conflict," stressed Mr. Zatulin.
