MOSCOW, March 22 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian government wants to create such conditions under which it would be more advantageous for Russians to retire later, Health and Social Development Minister Mikhail Zurabov told a RIA Novosti press conference.
He stressed that the government does not plan to "directively" change the pension age.
"We want to create such a system under which people themselves will choose when to retire," Mr. Zurabov said.
"But we should provide such options in the system under which a longer working term will give people substantially higher pensions, for example, a 50%-100% increase against what they could receive if they retired at a prescribed age," added the minister.
