BELGRADE, MARCH 23 (RIA Novosti correspondent Alexander Slabynko) - Sergei Shoigu, Russia's Minister for Emergency and Calamity Relief, is visiting Serbia. As President Svjetozar Marovic of Serbia and Montenegro was receiving him in Belgrade today, he thanked the minister for Russian assistance to Serb refugees who fled their homes in Kosovo last week with an outbreak of ethnic Albanian extremist violence.

Russian aid will help refugees to survive in their plight and eventually come back home, said President Marovic.

Mr. Shoigu gave him a detailed account of upcoming humanitarian cargoes from Russia. Many Russian-based companies are eager to engage in Kosovo charity, he added.

Two Russian IL-76 jumbo jets are expected in Belgrade tomorrow to bring tents, bedsteads, bed linen, lamps and kitchen utensils. The two batches will suffice to equip a camp sheltering a thousand refugees. Two refugee camps will be pitched up.
