MOSCOW, MARCH 26. (RIA NOVOSTI) - The Platon Lebedev file has been sent to court, report investigators of the Prosecutor General's office.
One of the Moscow district courts will consider the merits of the case now that the indictment has been approved, said the federal top prosecutor's spokeswoman.
Platon Lebedev, head of the controversial Menatep financial amalgamation, presently in custody, received his indictment today after Yuri Biryukov, Deputy Prosecutor General, confirmed and signed it.
The indictment makes two fat volumes-535 pages in total, says a Menatep functionary.
Lebedev is suspected of tax evasion and exorbitant swindles-in particular, misappropriation of 20 per cent shares of the government company Apatite to US$280 million, on rough estimation. The indictment concerns seven Criminal Code clauses.
