TBILISI, March 28, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili, after having voted on one of the election polls in Tbilisi, called on the Georgian citizens to take part in the Parliamentary elections.

He also spoke about the necessity to keep composure in the Adzharian autonomy during the summing up of the election results.

"I believe, that we have reached a certain progress at the talks with the Adzharian authorities, but at present it is necessary to remain calm after the closure of the polls in order to sum up the results," Mr. Saakashvili disclosed to journalists.

Commenting on statements, made by some politicians that Georgian Parliament may become single-party, Mr. Saakashvili said: "75 majority deputies have already been elected to the Parliament and 50 out of them are representatives of the opposition parties and thus it's wrong to say that the Parliament may become single party authoritative body." Earlier, member of the Central Election Commission from the Labor Party Badri Niauri stated, that today on March 28th at 10.00 P.M. (local time) the activists of the party will hold an act of protest in front of the Election Commission building against the criminal plan aimed at formation of the single-party, dictator-like Parliament.

When speaking on the yesterday's statement, made by Russian President Vladimir Putin, concerning the lift-off of the visa regime between Russia and Georgia, Mr. Saakashvili said: "I'm very pleased with connections with Russia. I've developed good relations with President Putin. Mr. Putin is the man of his word, and if he promised to lift-off the visa regime, he would certainly do it."
