BAKU, March 29, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - A delegation of the Russian State Duma headed by its speaker Boris Gryzlov has arrived in Baku for a two-day official visit.
After laying wreaths to the grave of Azerbaijan's ex-President Geidar Aliyev and to the Eternal Flame in the Shakhid Alley, Mr. Gryzlov will meet his counterpart Murtuz Aleskerov, the press service of Milli Mejlis (Azerbaijani parliament) reports.
The meeting will be devoted to expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijani and Russian legislatures, as well as of Azerbaijani-Russian relations in general.
Also, the Russian speaker will meet Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade. Afterwards, the Russian delegation will be received by President Ilkham Aliyev.
During the meetings the parties are expected to discuss issues of Russian-Azerbaijani bilateral cooperation, ways to settle regional problems and fight against terrorism.
On the second day of the visit the delegation will visit a district in Azerbaijan and then return to Moscow.
