"I believe we will submit to the Duma amendments to the law on information protection and the law on electronic signature early next year," Mr. Antonyuk told RIA Novosti.
He said the issue of information security demands significant changes in the Criminal-Procedural Code, as the code does not contain measures of responsibility for offenders in this sphere yet.
Mr. Antonyuk placed among the main tasks of information security provision the ensuring of protection of balanced interests of consumers, operators and state power bodies, and the formation of evidentiary base to bring offenders to account. "This is the list the normative legal basis should rest upon," Mr. Antonyuk said.
He said it's necessary to work out criteria of information security assessment and the rules of the game on this market. "We expect the business community to take an active part in it," Mr. Antonyuk said.
In his opinion, the companies need to spend 15-20% of the cost of their network on information security.
