RUSSIA-ALBANIA: DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTERS TAKE STOCK OF BALKAN DEVELOPMENTS

MOSCOW, MARCH 29, (RIA Novosti). - Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted today Russo-Albanian consultations on topical aspects of bilateral contacts, and regional and global issues, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs press and information department.

The conferees were in the rank of Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs-Sergei Razov for Russia and Luan Haidaraga for Albania. They exchanged opinions on issues of international relations in the Balkans, with special emphasis on current developments in Kosovo.

Also prominent on the agenda were the ways to buttress and streamline the treaty and legal bases of bilateral relations, and prospects to sign a Russian-Albanian treaty of friendship and cooperation.

The Parties described bilateral contacts in many fields as developing beneficially, on the whole, the department says in a statement.
