The Duma has set up an ad hoc team, which represents related parliamentary committees. The team will gather for another of its regular sessions, Wednesday, to make a detailed account of blueprints. Mr. Zhukov hopes MPs will approve the government-drafted package.
Government members had initial conferences with parliamentary majority spokesmen last week. They used the occasion to explain to the house basic premises of bills, after these had come through debates at a joint board session of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade. Parliamentarians offered understanding to government spokesmen, said Mr. Zhukov.
The fiscal reform promises to increase corporate revenues. Companies will retain them to raise wages, build up capital investment, and add pace to economic progress.
The reform also means to replace social privileges with pension increases, which will amount to 170 billion roubles-roughly US$6 bn, added Alexander Zhukov.
