LAVROV TO TAKE PART IN RUSSIA-NATO MEETING IN BRUSSELS ON APRIL 2

MOSCOW, March 30, 2004 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will participate in an informal meeting of the Russia-NATO Council at the level of Foreign Ministers in Brussels on April 2, the press and information department of the Russian Foreign Ministry told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.

The Russia-NATO Council was founded on May 28, 2002 in Rome. The 20 NATO member countries are members of this joint body. The council inherited the working program of the Russia-NATO Joint Permanent Council. Unlike the previous council, the Russia-NATO council is based on equal cooperation between the 20 countries.
