MOSCOW AND MINSK OVERCOME CONTRADICTIONS, LUKASHENKO SAYS

BREST (BELARUS), March 31, 2004. (RIA Novosti). According to Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko, Moscow and Minsk have overcome contradictions.

"Belarus and Russia can overcome all obstacles and problems on the way to the union state's formation," the President told journalists during his routine trip to Brest.

We should implement the agreements, which were achieved earlier, he added.

Lukashenko confirmed Minsk's adherence to the building of Russia-Belarus Union.

"The Union State exists de facto," he said.

The Day of the Russian-Belarussian Unity marked on April 2 is a real event, Alexander Lukashenko stressed.
