"Germany's support for Russia's position on this issue is important. However, if the European Union does not back our opinion, then any other decision will be disadvantageous not only for Russia, but for all the interested sides in general, including Lithuania," Russian Minister of Economic Development and Trade Gherman Gref told RIA Novosti in Frankfort on the Main.
After May 1, when Lithuania joins the European Union, it would like the tariffs on railway freight traffic to the Kaliningrad Region to be calculated according to the international prices, and this will mean that they will be much higher.
However, Russia does not regard the delivery of cargoes by railway to the Kaliningrad Region as international freight traffic, while the European Union, as is known, has not yet taken a definite position on this matter.
