Its authors propose that a TV channel be created on the basis of one of the state channels, which would not have commercials, whose programs would be of an educational nature and which will demonstrate Soviet films. The Duma committee on information policy is now working out amendments to the recently adopted law which instructs mass media to publish only official information on the terrorist acts. The head of the committee is against such bans though he does not like when television shows cruel details of the terrorist acts either. "Journalists should have self-regulation with respect to such questions," the deputy is convinced.
