When asked to update the president on the course of drafting the bills, Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref said: "Today, we will ask the head of government to submit them to the Duma." "Do you mean that the draft laws will be in parliament as early as today?" asked the president.
Vice-Premier Alexander Zhukov, for his part, said the concept of the bills had been agreed on in principle with a relevant Duma working group.
"We have already made certain adjustments to the bills on MPs' request," added the vice-premier.
The government approved a package of bills on the tax reform at a meeting on April 8, Thursday.
The key documents in the package contain amendments to the Russian Tax Code and envisage a decrease in single social tax, provide the adjusted definition of the severance tax formula, and amendments to the law on customs tariffs, which change the scale of oil export duties.
Moreover, the package includes the adjustments of income tax, excise taxes and other amendments.
