RUSSIA AND LITHUANIA CONTINUE TALKS ON MILITARY TRANSIT

MOSCOW, April 12 (RIA Novosti) - Russia plans to continue negotiations with Lithuania about an agreement on military transit.

"We intend to continue negotiations with the Lithuania government on an intergovernmental agreement on military transit," said Vladimir Chizhov, a representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, at a press conference at RIA Novosti.

He noted that the issues surrounding military transit were Russia and Lithuania's relationship instead of Russia and the EU's.

"This transit works. Overall, it does not work that badly. It satisfies both parties," he said. However, he also said that it was necessary to create a legal basis for the transit.
