MOSCOW, April 12 (RIA Novosti) - Moscow likes the readiness of the Georgian leadership as soon as possible to begin talks on problem matters, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said after a sitting of the international committee of the Federation Council (the upper chamber of Russian parliament).

"After a long no-go period, when it was hard to understand what and with whom to talk in Georgia, the new president Mikhail Saakashvili has come to power", said the minister. He recalled that the Georgian president has been in Moscow and reached agreement with the Russian leadership on the continuation of dialogue, including the matter of the Russian military bases.

Corresponding meetings on Russian-Georgian problems have been held in Moscow at the defence and foreign ministerial level, Lavrov added.

On Tuesday Russian-Georgian talks will be held in Tbilisi to discuss the bilateral framework agreement, as well as the withdrawal of the Russian military bases from Georgia.
