"Russian investments are very important and interesting for Georgia," he told the Novosti-Georgia news agency.
"Russia is our closest neighbor, whose economic potential is way stronger than that of Georgia, that's why Russian investments are attractive for us," said the minister.
He said he supports development of cooperation between Georgian and Russian businessmen. "The main thing is to prevent this cooperation from intertwining with politics and having any implications," Mr. Khaindrava said.
He reassured that nothing threatens Russian investments in Georgia, in particular, in the Adzharian autonomy. "Nothing threatens Russian investments in Adzharia on the part of Georgia's central authorities, if they are legal and are not out of line with Georgian legislation," the minister said.
