As the Bank's press service told RIA Novosti, the results of the Bank's activity last year will be summed up at the main meeting of the EBRD Board of Managers, and ways of its development next year will be outlined. Special attention will be paid to the forthcoming enlargement of the EU due to the countries which are now taking part in the Bank's activity, and schemes of assistance to them for their drawing closer to the living standards in Western Europe within the shortest time will be considered.
Besides that, a number of plenary meetings on related questions will take place on Monday. One of them will be devoted to the problem of Russian debts. The meeting will be held under the chairmanship of EBRD vice-president for finance Steven Kaempfer with the participation of deputy head of Russia's Central Bank Konstantin Korishchenko. The process of reforms of the Russian market of capitals , the development of the interbank market, the growth of the Russian investment base, and other themes will be discussed in the course of the meeting.
A business forum was held within the EBRD general meeting in London on the day before. The latest news and developments in the region's economic, political and business life, the general economic growth in the former socialist block's space, and the development of small and medium-size business, corporal management, and market competition were discussed at it. All in all, about 2,500 guests - from government officials and businessmen to journalists and members of non-government organizations from 27 countries of Europe and Central Asia assembled at the two-day forum.
