OVER 100 RUSSIAN HELICOPTER PILOTS LEAVE FOR SIERRA-LEONE

MOSCOW, April 25 (RIA Novosti) - Over 100 Russian military helicopter pilots left the Ramenskoye airfield in the Moscow region onboard a Tu-154 aircraft of the Russian air force at 7.20 am Moscow time, head of the Russian air force press service Alexander Drobyshevsky told RIA Novosti.

In his words, an Il-76 transport aircraft of the Russian air force is to leave the Migalovo aerodrome in Tver (150 km northwest of Moscow) in the early hours of April 27 to deliver technical cargo to the African continent.

A group of Russian helicopter pilots has been in Sierra-Leone since August 2000 in line with the UN Security Council's resolution, the source added.
