MOSCOW, April 28 (RIA Novosti) - The road to closer Russia-EU partnership has been cleared now that the partnership agreement has spread to the new European Union countries, said Henrik Sven Hirdman, Swedish Ambassador to Russia. He was addressing a Moscow research and practical seminar on, "Russia-EU: United Security Environment".

The agreement extension has settled many Russia-EU problems. Those economic stumbling blocks used to harass partnership in other fields. Now, it has fine prospects. There is every necessary prerequisite for closer ties-in particular, a sound basis to develop the concept of four united environments, said the diplomat.

Russia and the European Union have made a number of practical understandings on those tentative environments, of which Mr. Hirdman highlighted domestic and international security. He called to step up contacts, proceeding from the available understandings.

A decision to establish the four united environments-economic, domestic security, international security and, last but not least, research, culture and education-came up at a Russia-EU summit in St. Petersburg last May.
