MOSCOW, April 30 (RIA Novosti) - The construction of the modern racing track capable of hosting Formula 1 Grand Prix is planned to be started in the nearest future in Oryol (regional center 300 km south of Moscow). This was disclosed on Friday at the press-conference by President of the Formula-Z racing team, which participates in Formula-1600, Nikolai Vetrov.

"I turned to Governor of Oryol region Yegor Stroyev asking him to assign a plot of land for the construction of the racing track and he offered us a territory of 220 hectares," Mr. Vetrov said.

"We would like to have another modern racing track in Russia besides the racings tracks in Myachkovo, the Moscow region, and Nevsky Ring, St. Petersburg," Nikolai Vetrov, who was born in Oryol, noted.

The land, intended for the construction of the racing track, is situated on the territory of an old Oryol airport.

"It's too early to announce the exact date, when the construction of the track begins, since the construction project demands investments. We have the construction territory and all we have is to find reliable sponsors," driver of the Formula-Z racing team Denis Bakin said.
