MOSCOW, May 8 (RIA Novosti) - Acting Russian Agriculture Minister Aleksei Gordeyev, who is the president of the National Judo Union and the Judo Federation of Russia, discussed with Russian judoists preparation for the European championship and Olympic Games.
Gordeyev told RIA Novosti that on Saturday he met with sportsmen and sportswomen from judo teams.
Gordeyev noted that the meeting took place on the threshold of the European Judo Championship, as well as in light of the preparation for the Olympics.
"A conversation on all organizational issues took place," Gordeyev said.
"The course of preparation of our national team for the Olympics is in line with the schedule," he added.
The European Judo Championship will take place in Bucharest (Romania) on May 14-16. These competitions will be the last qualification start of judoists for the Olympic Games in Athens.
