"I hope we shall be able to report on the end of the work by the FATF fall session," said Mr. Zubkov who was taking part in the FATF session at the ministerial level in Paris.
According to him, the idea to form a regional FATF analogue, advanced by Russia and backed by FATF, was approved by the Council of CIS foreign ministers in March 2004.
"Now the technical work begins: each country should appoint its representative. After that, the gathering of a constituent conference and formation of the organization's legal basis will be possible," Viktor Zubkov noted.
In his words, Russia is not going to hasten its partners and has not drafted the schedule. However, today there are no obstacles to the formation of this organization, Mr. Zubkov said.
"We do not push on anyone. It is life that makes us unite and cooperate," he added.
