"The former chairman of the board cannot ensure access of the interim administration to the bank's premises referring to his dismissal by the board of directors. No other bank's employee could ensure the access of the interim administration to the bank," the press release of the Bank of Russia points out.
The report also says that persons, who are now in the bank's premises, do not fulfil the instructions of the interim administration to let its staff members and the authorized Interior Ministry's officers enter the building, and are physically hampering such passage. "This happens against the background of the penetration to the bank of a group of unidentified persons without showing its powers to the interim administration.
In addition, information is being spread on behalf of the chairman of Sodbiznesbank's board of directors Mr. Kigas about the allegedly adopted decisions, by the general meeting of shareholders, which mislead the public, for instance a decision on the voluntary liquidation of the bank.
On Thursday, May 13, the Central Bank of Russia cancelled the Sodbiznesbank's license to banking operations because it does not fulfil federal laws regulating the banking activity and the normative acts of the Bank of Russia, repeatedly violated, in the course of one year, a number of provisions of the federal law "On Countering Legalization (Laundering) of Incomes Received by Criminal Way, and Financing Terrorism." Sodbiznesbank was formed in 1991. Its authorized capital amounted to two billion roubles ($1 equals 29 roubles) and was sixth among 30 banks-leaders according to business efficiency in 2002. The bank serviced more than 35,000 clients, and a total number of clients' accounts made up more than 70,000.
