Talking to RIA Novosti, people at the Kaliningrad regional administration's press center noted that the EBRD delegation comprised Swedish, Israeli, British, Canadian, French, Italian, Finnish, Dutch, Latvian and Russian representatives.
A joint session involving the EBRD top management and the regional administration will be held May 20, examining the Kaliningrad region's investment potential, the implementation of the federal target program for developing the Kaliningrad region until 2010, as well as specific principles of interaction between this region and the EBRD, a press-center spokesman noted.
In his words, many projects are to be implemented with the help of EBRD monies. Among other things, it's intended to build the south bypass highway, to expand the Khrabrovo airport, to build a TV-broadcasting station, to set up a trash-processing factory replete with a trash-recycling area, to commission purification facilities in Kaliningrad and to build and overhaul similar facilities in regional cities and districts. Moreover, the Baltic coast will be reinforced.
The delegation of EBRD directors will be staying in Kaliningrad until May 21.
