MILITARY-TECHNICAL COOPERATION WITH CHINA SATISFIES RUSSIA, SAYS IGOR IVANOV

MOSCOW, May 19 (RIA Novosti) - Russia is satisfied with the level of its military-technical cooperation with China, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Igor Ivanov said on Wednesday at the meeting with the Chief of the General Staff of the People's Liberation Army of China, Liang Guanglie.

"We are satisfied with the level of military and military-technical cooperation between our countries. This fully reflects the course of strategic partnership between Russia and China determined by the two countries' leaders," Igor Ivanov said and added that in the morning he talked with acting defense minister Sergei Ivanov. "I know that you had negotiations with him and the Chief of General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Anatoly Kvashnin," Igor Ivanov told Liang Guanglie.

The latter, on his part, thanked the Russian side for the given welcome. "The aim of our visit is to expand mutual understanding and strengthen friendship between our armies," he said.

"We have conducted fruitful, constructive, friendly and open negotiations," the Chinese chief of the general staff stressed speaking about his meetings with Sergei Ivanov and Anatoly Kvashnin.
