The booklets contain useful reference information for foreign tourists: entrance rules, customs regulations, information on the state structure, and the Russian border service.
In addition to the booklet, each foreign guest gets a Russian map with geographic zones, big cities and historic sites.
All in all, 20,000 booklets were published. In the future booklets will be published in other foreign languages.
"I am convinced that the project will help our citizens. It is very important that the Russian side distributes such booklets. We do not want our residents to break your laws on entering your country," the police chief of Eastern Finnmark said.
On his part, head of the information-analytical department of the Russian Border Service Vladimir Mochalov expressed hope for further cooperation between the service and RIA Novosti.
"This is our first experience but I hope such booklets will be published in other languages," he said.
"It is very important that our foreign guests get the necessary information on our country from the very beginning," RIA Novosti deputy director general Alexander Babinsky noted.
