DUSHANBE, May 19 (RIA Novosti) - Yesterday Russian border guards found a big cache with ammunition on Khorogsky sector of the Tajik-Afghan border (320 kilometers to the east of Dushanbe), the press service of the border group of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) in Tajikistan told RIA Novosti on Wednesday.
The cache contained 18 anti-tank rocket launchers, 23 grenades and 14 tubular grenade-launcher rounds.
Engineers of the Khorogsky border detachment destroyed the ammunition at once, the press service said.
Russian detachments have been guarding the Tajik-Afghan border for 11 years already. By next summer Tajik servicemen will guard it independently.
