ST. PETERSBURG, May 23 (RIA Novosti) - Semi-finals are nearing in the Russian Challenge junior judo competition.
The quarterfinals brought the host country's national team a sensational victory over Britain, 15-3. Russians will face the Ukraine-Hungary meet winner in the semi-finals.
Another Russian team, of the Moscow-based Yavara M club, defeated Germans, 10-8, and will now fight Romanians.
Wrestlers from Belarus, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Russia, the UK and Ukraine, in the 14-16 age bracket, are competing on an unprecedented arrangement, boys and girls in one team.
