MOSCOW, May 27 (RIA Novosti) - "We are studying a draft resolution on Iraq submitted for the United Nations Security Council's consideration," Alexander Yakovenko, official spokesman of the Russian foreign ministry, told a news conference at the RIA Novosti agency.
"We are also waiting for the UN Secretary General's envoy Lahdar Brahimi to return from Iraq and present his proposals on the Iraqi interim government's composition," said Mr Yakovenko.
The Security Council has not, thus far, advanced any proposals on the Iraqi government's composition whatsoever.
Moscow hopes proposals on the new UN resolution on Iraq and its government will be made in public rather than in the "cloakrooms," according to the diplomat.
"Relevant proposals will hopefully be made openly so that all the UN Security Council members could take part in the discussions," said Mr Yakovenko.
