After the opening ceremony fountains will work from dawn till dusk until October 19; each of the city's 25 largest fountains has an operation schedule of its own. All 12 fountains of the Manezhnaya Square (near the Kremlin), and eight fountains and two cascades at Poklonnaya Gora (Kutuzovsky Prospekt) will work 24/7.
All in all Moscow has over 200 various cascades.
The opening ceremony is always held at the Manezhnaya Square, host to the city's best cascades and water mazes, with music, dance, and other sorts of entertainment. This Sunday fountains will be opened there at 5.00 p.m. by Mayor Yuri Luzhkov. He will be given a crystal horn with water, and as the mayor pours the water onto the ground, all the fountains will burst into the sky simultaneously.
