MOSCOW, May 30 - RIA Novosti. Russian companies Lukoil and Stroitransgaz say their plans to unfold operations in Saudi Arabia will not be affected by a series of terror attacks in the country.

Lukoil Overseas Holding responsible for Lukoil's overseas operations will not alter schedules for operations underway in Saudi Arabia, press secretary of the company Grigory Volchek told RIA Novosti.

The Russian company has not confirmed media reports that the business center attacked by terrorists also had a Lukoil's office.

No personnel of the company were inside when the building was seized, Lukoil's press secretary Dmitry Dolgov told RIA Novosti.

He said that Lukoil's executives were seeking a place for an office in Saudi Arabia. Soon they will withdraw from the country, but their departure has no connection with the latest events, he said.

"Our representatives are leaving the country because the term of their mission is over, and they have done their job," he clarified.

Stroitransgaz is also seeking to open an office in Saudi Arabia due to expansion into the country, the Russian company told RIA Novosti.

The spokesman for Stroitransgaz also said that no Stroitransgaz's operations would be affected by the latest developments in the country.

On Saturday a terrorist group took hostage about 50 people, some of them foreigners, in the city of Hubar. Several hostages were killed as the building was stormed.

Before that terrorists had attacked some representation offices of oil companies in Saudi Arabia, killing seven foreigners and nine Saudis.

The Information and Media Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry sent a statement to RIA Novosti on Sunday, which read that Russia's Embassy closely cooperates with the Saudi authorities to obtain additional information on the latest attack.

"According to preliminary information from Russia's Embassy in Riyadh, there are no Russian citizens among those who suffered hostage-taking in the Saudi city of Hubar," the statement reads.
