"All these questions are very important in the light of the transition in Russia to the accomplishment of large-scale national tasks of speeding up the rates of the economic development, of raising the competitiveness of the Russian economy and improving the living standards of the population," the spokesman said.
He also noted that Moscow is thoroughly monitoring the fulfillment of the OSCE's commitments in the economic and ecological spheres, regarding this control as an important instrument for analysing the state of European economic and nature protection cooperation.
"In this context we give priority to the full implementation of the OSCE strategy in the sphere of the economic and ecological dimension," the spokesman said.
The annual session of the OSCE Economic Forum met in Prague on May 31 and will continue till June 4. The general theme of the session is "New Challenges in the Sphere of Building up the Institutional and Human Potential in the Interests of Economic Development and Cooperation."
The Forum is attended by incumbent OSCE Chairman, Foreign Minister of Bulgaria Solomon Pasi, delegations of the OSCE member-countries, representatives of many international organisations, financial institutions, of the academic quarters and non-government organisations.
The Russian delegation is headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Denisov.
