TBILISI, June 9 (RIA Novosti) - Georgia may lose its right to vote in international organizations because of its membership fee debts.

A number of organizations have already given the Georgian Foreign Ministry a due warning, RIA Novosti's sources said.

Since 1992-1993 Georgia has owed the UN and its structures, the Council of Europe, OSCE, Black Sea organizations, etc., more than $35 million of membership fees.

"It is true that we owe international organizations $35 million from 1992-1993. We hold consultations with several organizations to give us ten years to repay this debt step by step. At the same time we are ready to pay current fees," Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Lasha Zhvania told journalists.

According to him, the Georgian Finance Ministry allocated $800,000 from the 2004 budget to repay debts to the UN and OSCE.
