MOSCOW, JUNE 9 (RIA Novosti) - Russia will go on seeking fair settlement of the Balkan problems, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said after talks with his Serbia and Montenegro analogue Vuk Draskovic.

"Russia will continue seeking a fair settlement of problems on the Balkans, including the Kosovo and Bosnia problems", Sergei Lavrov said.

"We have agreed upon the further interaction and coordination of our actions so as the corresponding resolutions of the United Nations Security Council be fulfilled in full volume", he said.

International presence in Kosovo is doing little to put life to normalcy there, believes the Russian foreign minister.

"Russia's help to the Serbian population in Kosovo is a real implementation of the UN Security Council resolution 1244 on creating normal conditions for the population", Lavrov told reporters in Moscow.

The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry is allocating Serbia additional aid.

"The Ministry coordinates the building of a camp for Serbians so that they can return to their native parts", Sergei Lavrov told journalists after talks with the Serbia and Montenegro foreign minister.

"The first requirement of the UN Security Council is the ensurance of return of refugees to their homes to live a life of normalcy", Lavrov said.

The UN contact group on Kosovo is to adjust actions towards the fulfilment of the UN Security Council Kosovo resolution, he said.

"We will see to it that the contact group on Kosovo as a single legitimate mechanism designed to prompt the Security Council resolution be in operation with the knowledge of the need of largely adjusting the present actions towards the fulfilment of the UN Security Council resolution", Lavrov said.

"The recent statements of the UN Security Council and the contact group, sitting in Pristina on Tuesday, are an indication that our partners are beginning to understand the absolute legitimacy of our approaches and the legitimacy of the Belgrade position seeking only what is written down in the Security Council resolution 1244", Lavrov noted.

Sergei Lavrov stressed that the resolution 1244 mechanisms for its fulfilment "still cannot prove their efficiency".

At the talks, Sergei Lavrov confirmed Russia's interest in strengthening the Serbia-Montenegro statehood, its "readiness to assist the Serbian-Montenegrin union in gaining strong positions in the international arena in the interest of regional stabilisation".

The two foreign ministers also discussed the outlook for the further development of trade-economic relations between the two countries. Vuk Draskovic drew the attention to the Russian companies' privatisation capabilities in Serbia and Montenegro.

Russia wants Serbia and Montenegro to be stronger.

"We very much want Serbia and Montenegro to go strong as a state. We want it to be part of Europe coincidentally with the development of traditionally friendly, brotherly relations between Russia, Serbia and Montenegro. During today's talks, the two sides confirmed the incontestability of this course of events", Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told journalists.

He noted that their bilateral relations rely on ages of friendship between the peoples. "This not only helps to develop our cooperation but also obliges the politicians to be abreast of the lofty hopes pinned on them by the peoples of our countries", Lavrov said.

To him, today's talks have yielded positive results. "Our talks were open and specific. They have confirmed the high level of our interaction and partnership", Sergei Lavrov said.
