DRM consortium has been involved into elaboration and introduction of the unified world digital broadcasting system since 1998. It unites over 75 radio companies from different countries.
Chairman of the DRM commercial council Michel Penneroux highly assessed the Golos Rossii activities aimed at the transition to digital broadcasting.
"Now people can listen to Golos Rossii with a perfect FM quality. We expect Russia to make its contribution into production of digital radio receivers," said Mr. Penneroux.
It is high time to introduce digital broadcasting standards in Russia, said Golos Rossii head Armen Oganisyan. Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov signed a relevant order.
"Therefore, we shall make a special digital radio program and propose to include money on the development of the DRM format in the Russian budget," Mr. Oganisyan said.
DRM President Peter Senger pointed out Golos Rossii role in the introduction of radio broadcasting standards in Russia adding that internal radio stations should also be interested in it.
Peter Senger hopes for the possibility to receive digital radio programs on cell phones.
