MOSCOW, June 19 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Foreign Ministry critically assessed the Lithuanian parliament's attempt to reclaim "damages from the Soviet occupation".
On Friday Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Chizhov met with Secretary of State of the Foreign Ministry of Lithuania Evaldas Ignatavicius, the Foreign Ministry's press and information department reported on Saturday.
The sides positively assessed the development of Russian-Lithuanian links and pointed out the importance to preserve favorable atmosphere in bilateral relations.
In this connection the Russian side criticized attempts of the Lithuanian parliament to reclaim "damage from the Soviet occupation", which can hamper the development of Russian-Lithuanian relations, the department said.
