MOSCOW, June 21 (RIA Novosti) - Neftegaz 2004, an international exhibition of oil and gas equipment, will soon open in Moscow.

Expocentr, Messe Dusseldorf GmbH (Germany) and the Russian Industry and Energy Ministry organized the exhibition.

This is the tenth time the exhibition has been held; Expocentr organized the first one in 1978. Since 1992, it has been regularly held every two years (even years). In 2002, over 750 firms from 28 countries attended the exhibition.

Russia's oil and natural gas resources allow it to not only satisfy its own fuel and energy requirements but also be a serious partner on the world energy market.

Further expansion of mutually advantageous cooperation with foreign firms and companies will enable Russia to expand its oil and natural gas industry, increase the amount and quality of petrochemical products produced and restructure oil and natural gas enterprises by attracting foreign investors and modern technology. It is also planned to formulate projects to jointly develop oil and natural gas deposits. Scientists and experts have confirmed the investment attractiveness of these projects.

This oil and natural gas industry equipment exhibition is the largest in Russia and the CIS and exerts substantial influence on the development of Russia's oil and energy industries.

The oil production and refining equipment, projects for developing oil and natural gas deposits and products of the petrochemical industry that will be displayed at the exhibition will give a picture of the technological and production capabilities of Russian and foreign producers.

About 800 firms from 28 countries will attend Neftegaz 2004, including companies from Belarus, Belgium, Britain, Germany, Denmark, Italy, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, Austria, the United States, Ukraine, Finland, France, Croatia, the Czech Republic and Sweden.
