MOSCOW INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL WINNERS NAMED

MOSCOW, June 27 (RIA Novosti) -- The first winners of the 26th Moscow International Film Festival have been named. The International Federation of Film Press (FIPRESSI) aired its winning names on Sunday at Moscow's Cinema House.

The jury headed by Italian Umberto Rossi called Russian Marina Razbezhkina's Harvest Time the best film. The chairman of the jury said the vote was unanimous.

Russian film press gave its award to Dmitry Meskhiyev's Friends, as the jury said, "for adequate depiction of a private life amid great historical events." Marina Razbezhkina's Harvest Time and Heitor Dkhalia's Nina were awarded diplomas.

The Federation of Russian Cinema Clubs gave its award to Dmitry Meskhiyev's Friends and Valeri Todorovsky's My Stepbrother Frankenstein.

Vladimir Mashkov's Daddy won the Viewers' Choice Prize.

The winners of the main contest and of the Future Success Program will be named later today.
