MOSCOW, June 29 (RIA Novosti) - President Vladimir Putin is likely to hold a long-awaited meeting with Russian businessmen on Friday, July 2, Nezavisimaya Gazeta said. Formerly the meeting was scheduled for May 19 and June 16. Various business associations are to submit their economic development proposals to the head of state.

According to head of the Russian Banks Association Garegin Tosunyan, bankers will participate in this meeting. They are to discuss the bank crisis, the banking sector's development, and the banking strategy of the government and Russia's Central Bank, Nezavisimaya Gazeta reported. The discussion will depend on the cabinet's decision on the banking strategy to be taken on Thursday.

The agenda of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs is being specified. However, the Yukos case will not be at issue. Vladimir Putin has given many comments on this problem.

According to Business Russia (small and medium-sized business) cochairman Boris Titov, his organization is to discuss the adjustment of the state economic policy. "We should avoid exports of raw materials by means of stimulating investments into processing branches and the development of small and medium-sized business. The state should assume more functions. It should form an economy-stimulating system. This concerns the improvement of the state and corporate financial systems, reduction of lending rates and creation of special growth instruments. First of all, we need investment agencies, funds to support small business and other measures," Boris Titov told Nezavisimaya Gazeta.
