MOSCOW

* President Vladimir Putin will meet with Russian businessmen.

* Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov will preside over a cabinet meeting.

* Georgian State Minister for Separatist Conflicts Georgy Khaindrava will give a press conference on the results of the session of the mixed control commission for the Georgian-Ossetian settlement and the development of Russian-Georgian relations.

* The Russian Information Agency Novosti will host the following press conferences:

o "Russia's interests and the starting presidential election campaign in Ukraine and the results of NATO summit in Istanbul in the light of Russian interests" with chairman of the State Duma committee for the CIS and compatriots Andrei Kokoshin and President of the Effective Politics Fund Gleb Pavlovsky;

o "Media business in Russia: who and how manages mass media?".

* The Danilovskaya Hotel will host a roundtable on Orthodox and liberal views of freedom and dignity organized by the Radonezh Orthodox society. Russian human rights envoy Vladimir Lukin, chairperson of the State Duma human rights committee Ella Pamfilova, Federation Council's member Mikhail Margelov, State Duma deputy Natalia Narochnitskaya, deacon Andrei Kurayev and others will participate in the roundtable.

* Moscow will host the official opening ceremony of the Russian-French technologies center. Russian Deputy Education and Science Minister Andrei Svinarenko, heads of Bauman Moscow State Technical University, representatives of the French Ministry of National Education, Higher Learning and Research, the French embassy and the Lyons high engineering school.

* The 1st Moscow international chemical summit will open. It is organized by the Russian Chemists Union, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Moscow government and the Russian Industry and Energy Ministry.

* A press conference on the anniversary of cooperation between the British Airways and the Domodedovo international airport. Daniel Burkhard, British Airways commercial director for Eastern Europe, Graham Cromarty, company's customer service director for Northern and Eastern Europe, and management of the Domodedovo airport will participate in the press conference.

* The Russian Culture Fund will host a press conference on pictures and documents on the stay of the Russian squadron in the Tunisian port of Bizerte in 1920-1924, which will be presented to Russia.

* Moscow will host a press conference on the Pacific Meridians 2nd international film festival of the Asia-Pacific region, which will take place in Vladivostok on September 3-8.

* The State History Museum will host the presentation ceremony of the Birth of the Olympic Games exposition. Greek ambassador to Russia Dimitrios Paraskevopoulos and President of the Russian Olympic Committee Leonid Tyagachev will participate in the ceremony.

MISSION CONTROL CENTER

* On Thursday night Gennady Padalka and Michael Fincke, the crew of the International Space Station, will make the second attempt of an exit into space to repair the American gyroscope.

CHOLPON-ATA (KYRGYZSTAN)

* Cholpon-Ata will host the 5th session of the coordination council for the CIS information technologies. The formation of the CIS common information space will be the key issue .

JAKARTA

* ASEAN Foreign Ministers will hold a joint session with their Chinese, South Korean, and Japanese counterparts and separate meetings with Russian, EU, Australian, Canadian, New Zealand and US Foreign Ministers. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov heads the Russian delegation.

PARIS

* Historical relics (letters, photographs, table articles, etc.) will be sold at an auction in Paris.
