MOSCOW, July 5 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin called on the Pobeda (Victory) organizational committee not to reduce the rates of preparation for the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Soviet people's victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
The president said at a conference with government members in the Kremlin that a lot of guests visited Moscow on Saturday, including eight leaders of the CIS member countries.
"A sports and entertainment event was the occasion for the meeting. This occasion created a good possibility for informal communication and discussion of current problems," Mr. Putin said.
In particular, in his words, during the meetings with CIS leaders, joint steps on the international arena were discussed.
The president stressed that everything that was voiced at the State Council must be summarized and implemented in practice to prepare for the celebration.
