"Everything depends on the Central Bank. They should at list make public the black list", he said.
Mr. Gafin stated that in his opinion the current situation around some Russian banks involved no politics.
"I do not think it involves any politics. What kind of politics is it, if someone works improperly", he believes.
At the same time, the Alpha-Bank's vice-president said that the chain reaction is possible throughout the whole banking sector. According to him, it may result in liquidation of around 200 Russian banks.
"These are the banks engaged in various activities inconsistent with their main activity", he said. Mr. Gafin said that he hoped that the situation around the Russian banks would soon be settled.
"Every time crisis happen, we believe and will believe that it has not been triggered on purpose", he said.
At the same time, Sergei Ignatiev, head of Russia's Central Bank, addressing the State Duma (Russian parliament's lower chamber) deputies on Wednesday, stated that the Russian Central Bank did not have the black list. Following suspension of the Sodbusinessbank activities, other banks began to draw up the so-called black lists of those, with whom they refused to work on the inter-bank crediting market, he said.
"The situation around the Sodbusinessbank entailed a kind of a boom in the press, the black lists emerged. I saw three of them with my own eyes", added Mr. Ignatiev.
According to him, these lists contain the banks, the Central Bank has questions to, but there are also those, the Central Bank has no claims to.
"My impression is that these lists were drawn up on purpose by unscrupulous persons towards an abominable end", said Mr. Ignatiev.
The Alpha-Bank's vice-president Alexander Gafin said that the publication of his bank's name in the press following the situation around the Guta Bank was a planned action.
"We fell victims to a well-planned contrivance. We even know who did this and by what means", said Mr. Gafin.
The vice-president said that since the last Saturday and up to now the Alpha Bank had returned approximately $100 million to its depositors.
Mr. Gafin also stated that the TNK-BP merger brought ready assets of $3 billion to the Alpha-Bank.
"Now we have the liquidity reserve of $3 billion arising from the TNK-BP merger", said the Alpha-Bank's vice-president at a conference in Moscow.
