The forum was organized by the Russian Science and Culture Centers in Warsaw and Gdansk, the historical and philological department of Gdansk University, and the Institute of Russian Studies at Warsaw University.
"The main goal of our conference is to establish a cultural dialogue at a new and modern level with due consideration for the historical experience as well as the propaganda of the brightest phenomena in the Russian culture, science and art," said Lola Zvonareva, a member of the conference's organizing committee and academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.
According to her, the participants in the forum will try to gain an insight into the cultural space of Europe and Russia. "Famous scientists, writers and artists whose books, speeches and exhibits have recently attracted public attention, have arrived in Gdansk," noted Ms. Zvonareva.
Russian writers will present their new books during the conference, which ends on July 29.
