MOSCOW, July 26 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Security Council Secretary Igor Ivanov and Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Miguel Moratinos held private talks in the Kremlin on Monday.

They discussed the situations in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Middle East. "The sides have common assessments and approaches to these problems, which forms good preconditions for cooperation, in particular, within the UN Security Council, for the sake of political settlement of these conflicts," the Security Council's press service said.

According to the press service, they "also considered bilateral interaction on the Euro-Atlantic space aimed at further consolidation of European security and stability".

"The sides pointed out that Russian-Spanish relations, especially, on the international scene, are rapidly developing," the press service added.
