AEROFLOT MANAGERS INTERNATIONALLY CERTIFIED

MOSCOW, July 27 (RIA Novosti) - International auditors have finished checking management of the Aeroflot. Russia's leading international airlines received quality certificates in Moscow today.

Principal company services-the mission control centre, the maintenance centre, and the air safety service-are fully complying with the ISO 9001-2000 international standards, Peter Bartolme, chief auditor of the RW TUV international certifying board, said to a news conference in Moscow.

Aeroflot quality managerial arrangements, however, leave ample room for progress, pointed out the auditor as he called the company to step up home auditing, which will highlight its own most successful services to emulate.

The Standard & Poor's confirmed the Aeroflot corporate management rating. It stays CMR 5, while its national rating has come up from CMR 5.2 to 5.4. The decision reflects certain corporate managerial improvements since December 2002, the latest occasion when the Aeroflot had its rating reappraised, and its persistent drawbacks, the S&P says in a statement.

The Aeroflot-Russian Airlines is Russia's largest air transport company. The government holds its 51% block. The Aeroflot controls 11 per cent of home air transport and 39 per cent of transnational routes. It currently possesses 92 planes.
