They represent different sectors, Mr. Baraulin said.
"Not all those willing may participate because the floorspace of the Russian exhibition is not large, only 1,300 square meters", he said. Claimants have to be thoroughly selected.
"We have to select them for reasons of theme or size of the exhibit", Alexander Baraulin stressed.
Seventy eight participants have been chosen. They will present their exhibits, videos or computer images at EXPO-2005. Among them are 37 enterprises, 14 regional administrations, 12 institutes under the Russian Academy of Sciences, 9 ministries and 6 museums. The Russian exhibition is to be formed by November and, therefore, the make-up can be changed, Mr. Baraulin noted.
He cited among the most interesting exhibits a system for collecting solar energy and passing it through a single-wire scheme, models of ocean-floor seismic station, a floating nuclear power station and a multiple-use space system, and unique hand-made playthings.
The EXPO-2005 will be held from March 25 to September 25 in Aichi prefecture, near Nagoya. Over 120 countries and international organizations will participate. The exhibition's motto is Nature's Wisdom.
The theme of the Russian exposition is Noosphere's Harmony. Its sections are the following: Planet Earth - Russia's Natural Wealth for Mankind; Man in Space - Space Technologies Today and Tomorrow; Energy - Russian Proposals to the International Community; Man and the Elements - Monitoring, Warning and Elimination of Effects of Natural and Man-Caused Catastrophes; Cultural Mosaic - Millennium-Long History of Russian Ethnic Groups and Cultures.
