* Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty (ODKB) Nikolai Bordyuzha will arrive in Kazakhstan to participate in the Rubezh-2004 joint exercises of the ODKB rapid deployment forces. Those participating will be military units from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan (Belarus and Armenia are other two ODKB member-states), operative groups of general staffs, representatives of the ODKB bodies, observers from the Commonwealth of Independent States and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, China and Uzbekistan).

* The 2nd Orthodox exposition "Nizhny Novgorod region is the land of St. Seraphim of Sarov" will open in this city on the Volga River. It will run until August 8.
